<과학방문 강사진>

  대한민국의 방사선의학 분야를 선도하는 한국원자력의학원에서 진행된 국제원자력기구(IAEA) 기술협력 과학방문 프로그램 수료식이 지난 2024년 12월 12일 및 20일 개최되었다. 이번 과학방문 과정에는 태국 원자력연구소(TINT, Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology) 핵과학자 2인 상완삭 하이쿤야(Sanguansak Hykunya), 분우마 조와릿(Boon-Uma Jowanaridhi)이 참가하였다.

  Sanguansak Hykunya를 대상으로 2024년 12월 9일부터 13일까지 1주간 진행된 프로그램은 이교철 책임연구원 지도로 운영되었다. 연수기간 동안 태국 전문가는 사이클로트론을 활용하여 I-123을 비롯한 방사선동위원소 생산 및 방사성의약품 생산 기술을 집중적으로 학습하며 전문 역량을 강화하였다.

  Boon-Uma Jowanaridhi를 대상으로 2024년 12월 9일부터 20일까지 2주간 진행된 프로그램은 이교철 책임연구원 지도하에 김광일 박사팀과 함께 운영되었다. 연수기간 동안 태국 전문가는 임상전 시험관 내(in vitro) 예비 평가 및 생체 내(in vivo) 임상지식 습득에 대해 집중적으로 학습하며 전문 역량을 강화하였다.

  태국 전문가들은 이론과 실습을 병행하며 최신 방사선치료 기술을 습득하였고, 연구 및 임상용 방사성의약품 생산과 공급을 할 수 있는 GMP 시설 등 한국의 첨단 방사선의학 인프라를 경험하며 자국 방사선의학 환경 개선을 위해 전문가 자문을 통해 협력 방안을 모색하고 추후 협력에 대한 의지를 공고히 하였다.

  한국원자력의학원은 이번 IAEA 기술협력 과학방문 프로그램을 통해 방사선의학 분야에서 한-태간 협력이 더욱 공고해지기를 기대하고 있다. 

The completion ceremony for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Technical Cooperation Scientific Visit, conducted by the Korea Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences(KIRAMS) was held on December 12 and 20, 2024 respectively. Two (2) nuclear scientists from the Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (TINT), Sanguansak Hykunya and Boon-Uma Jowanaridhi participated in this Scientific Visit Program.

The program, conducted from December 9 to 13, 2024 for Sanguansak Hykunya, was supervised by Principal Researcher Dr. Kyo Chul LEE. During the training period, the Thai expert focused on enhancing his expertise in the production of radioisotopes including I-123, and the technology for producing radiopharmaceuticals using cyclotron.

The program, conducted from December 9 to 20, 2024 for Boon-Uma Jowanaridhi, was guided by Principal Researcher Dr. Kyo Chul LEE and carried out by Dr. Kwang Il KIM. During the training period, the Thai expert focused on in-depth learning of in vitro preliminary evaluation for preclinical testing and acquiring in vivo preclinical knowledge, thereby enhancing their professional capabilities.

The Thai experts acquired the latest radiation therapy technologies through a combination of lectures and practices, and experienced Korea's advanced radiation medicine infrastructure, including GMP facilities capable of producing and supplying radiopharmaceuticals for research and clinical use. The Thai experts sought collaborative solutions through expert consultations to improve the radiation medicine environment in their home country and solidified their commitment to future cooperation.
 

KIRAMS hopes that the IAEA Technical Cooperation Scientific Visit Program will further strengthen cooperation between Korea and Thailand in the field of radiation medicine.
