한국국제보건의료재단 발주 ‘2022년도 이종욱펠로우십 프로그램 임상과정(몽골, 에티오피아)’을 위탁 운영해 한국원자력의학원에서 6개월간 연수한 몽골 의료진 2인의 교육 수료를 기념하는 자체 연수 수료식을 2023. 5. 4.(목) 개최하였다.

양산부산대학교병원과 공동으로 사업 수행한 몽골， 에티오피아 보건의료직 초청 연수는 2022년 11월 연수생 입국을 시작으로 약 6개월간 교육이 진행됐다.

2명의 의료진은 핵의학과 분야의 핵의학 진단, 치료 및 사이클로트론 기반 방사성의약품 생산과 관련 전문 임상 교육을 받았으며 외부 관계기관 GMP 시설 파견교육， 국내 학술대회 참여， 의료박람회 등 현장학습， 한국지역 문화체험교육 등 다양한 공통 교육을 통해 한국의 우수한 의료시스템과 문화를 경험했다.

수료 기념행사에서 이진경 한국원자력의학원장은 "지난 6개월간 한국원자력의학원에서 최선을 다해 수련하고 돌아가는 몽골 연수생들이 자랑스럽다. 연수의 성료를 위해 고생한 연수생 및 모든 관계자분들에게 감사하다"며 "연수생들이 6개월간 배운 내용을 활용해 소속 병원의 보건의료환경을 개선하고 수준 높은 핵의학 진단 및 치료 서비스를 제공하는데 기여하길 바란다. 앞으로 연수생들과 한국원자력의학원의 지속적인 의료협력을 기대한다"고 말했다.

한편，한국원자력의학원에서 사업 수행한 이종욱펠로우십 프로그램은 前WHO 사무총장이었던 고(故) 이종욱 박사의 정신을 계승해 개발도상국 의료발전 지원을 위해 한국국제보건의료재단이 매년 시행하는 국제협력 원조사업으로 외국 의료진의 국내 초청연수， 현지방문 컨설팅교육 등을 지원한다.

On Thursday May 4, 2023 Uyanga Tugsuu and Odbat Temuulen, trainees from Mongolia has completed 6 months training at KIRAMS as part of a capacity building program called Dr LEE Jong-wook Fellowship Program generously funded by Korea Foundation for International Healthcare(KOFIH).

Under the guidance of advisor, Dr Jung Young KIM, the trainees received an all-encompassing crash couse in radioisotope production, from the physical principles behind the cyclotron to radiopharmaceutical manufacture and quality control. Not only they received clinical training but also acquired Korean cultural experiences.

During the completion ceremony, they expressed their sincere gratitude to KOFIH for providing this opportunity and to the KIRAMS staff for the great care and support. They also mentioned that they are looking forward to applying new knowledge in practice.

Dr LEE Jong-wook Fellowship Program was launched in 2007 to honor the spirit of the Late Dr LEE Jong-wook, the 6th Director-General of the WHO, who stressed the importance of training workforce in developing countries for sustainable development. This program is a training program designed to invite the global healthcare workforce from partner countries in order to build their competence.
